Karnataka Government Is Hiring 1087 Teachers — Here’s the Salary-Track Path to Apply
KEA's KREIS Teacher Recruitment 2026 opens 1087 government teaching posts in Karnataka, with online applications from 15 July to 13 August 2026.
For job seekers eyeing a stable government career in education, Karnataka has just opened a large hiring window. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released the KREIS Teacher Recruitment 2026 notification on behalf of the Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS), for 1087 teacher posts.
The vacancies come from two notifications issued 10 July 2026 — 767 posts under the Rest of the State (RPC) cadre and 320 under the Kalyana-Karnataka (KK) local cadre — spanning language, science, mathematics, social science, and physical education teaching roles at residential schools across Karnataka.
Candidates can apply online from 15 July 2026 through 13 August 2026 via kea.kar.nic.in or cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. The entry requirements are a relevant Bachelor’s degree, a B.Ed qualification recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education, and a valid KARTET or equivalent TET certificate.
Working knowledge of Kannada is mandatory under state recruitment rules, and applicants must generally meet Karnataka domicile conditions. The minimum eligible age is 18, with the upper limit and category-based age relaxations set out in the official notification PDF.
The hiring process itself is a three-stage funnel: an online written exam covering subject knowledge, teaching aptitude and language sections, document verification of shortlisted candidates, and a final merit list that leads into school allotment and appointment orders.
KREIS, run under Karnataka’s Social Welfare Department, operates a large network of free residential schools styled on Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, serving students from SC, ST, OBC and other economically weaker backgrounds statewide.
