One Research Job, Strict Criteria: What It Takes to Land CURAJ’s Senior Research Fellow Post

CURAJ's Senior Research Fellow recruitment for its Ajmer campus requires NET/GATE qualification and 2 years of R&D experience; applications close 12 July 2026.

For researchers with a NET or GATE score sitting unused, the Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ) has one opening worth a look: a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) post at its Bandarsindri campus in Ajmer, with applications closing today, 12 July 2026.

The bar for entry is specific. Candidates need an M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Botany, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Genetics, or an equivalent discipline with at least 60 percent marks or CGPA, a CSIR-UGC NET, UGC NET (including Lectureship eligibility), and/or a valid GATE score, plus a minimum of two years of relevant Research & Development experience.

Applications are submitted online at curaj.ac.in. CURAJ has been direct about the stakes: with only one vacancy advertised, competition is expected to be high, and candidates are advised to apply well ahead of the deadline rather than risk a last-minute technical failure.

The position itself is purely temporary and project-linked — a structure CURAJ uses across its research fellowship postings, from Junior Research Fellow through Senior Research Fellow, Research Associate and Project Assistant roles tied to funded projects in departments like Microbiology, Biotechnology and Environmental Science.

Compensation follows the norms of the project’s funding agency — potentially CSIR, UGC, DBT, DST or ICAR — with House Rent Allowance admissible where applicable; CURAJ notes that such fellowship posts generally don’t require an application fee, though candidates are told to verify this in the official notification.

The selection path runs through eligibility screening, merit-based shortlisting, an interview or personal discussion, and document verification of the selected candidate — CURAJ has cautioned that meeting the minimum criteria doesn’t itself guarantee an interview call.
