IBPS PO 2026: 6,715 Officer Posts With Gross Pay Up to ₹92,000 a Month
IBPS's CRP PO/MT-XVI recruitment opens 6,715 Probationary Officer posts with gross monthly pay estimated at ₹88,000-92,000; applications close 21 July 2026.
For graduates weighing a banking-sector career move, IBPS has just put a large number on the table: 6,715 indicative vacancies for Probationary Officer and Management Trainee posts, announced under the CRP PO/MT-XVI notification for 2026 across 11 public sector banks.
That vacancy count is already about 1,500 higher than the previous cycle, and could grow further — Indian Bank, UCO Bank, and Union Bank of India have yet to report their final seat numbers, listed currently as ‘Not Reported.’ PwBD candidates have dedicated seats: 73 for hearing impairment, 70 for orthopedic disability, 67 for visual impairment, and 77 for intellectual disability.
Any graduate, regardless of stream, aged 20 to 30 as on 1 July 2026, can apply online at ibps.in between 1 July and 21 July 2026. The application fee is ₹850 for General/OBC/EWS candidates and ₹175 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates, with standard age relaxation for reserved categories.
Selection runs through a qualifying Preliminary Exam, a Main Examination combining objective and descriptive sections, a mandatory Personality Test, and a 100-mark Common Interview — the final merit list is built from Main Exam and Interview scores in an 80:20 split, followed by medical checks and document verification.
This cycle’s Main Exam has a revised pattern: 170 objective questions for 200 marks (up from 145), covering Reasoning Ability, General/Banking/Digital Awareness, English Language, and Data Analysis & Interpretation, within the same 160-minute duration. Notably, IBPS has dropped the Credit History/CIBIL Score clause that featured in past notifications.
On the pay front, selected Probationary Officers start with a basic salary of around ₹48,480 a month, with total gross pay — factoring in Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and other bank-specific benefits — estimated between ₹88,000 and ₹92,000, depending on the posting location. Prelims are tentatively slated for 22-23 August 2026.
