Dr. Jignesh Jani Warns War Is Quietly Draining the Planet’s Resources
Humanitarian thinker Dr. Jignesh Jani has called for ceasefires in the Iran-Israel-US tensions and the Russia-Ukraine war, arguing that modern conflict wastes resources the world can no longer spare.
War does not only take human lives. It also consumes fuel, metals, water, land, food, money, and energy on a scale that could otherwise be used to improve the lives of millions of people. This is the concern raised by humanitarian thinker and peace advocate Dr. Jignesh Jani, who has called for urgent ceasefires in the conflicts involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, as well as in the continuing war between Russia and Ukraine.
According to Dr. Jani, the world can no longer afford to treat war as only a political or military issue. Every missile, aircraft, military convoy, damaged building, and destroyed road represents a massive use of natural and economic resources. These resources come from the same planet that is already struggling with climate change, water shortages, food insecurity, pollution, and environmental damage.
Billions are spent on weapons, military operations, and reconstruction after destruction, even as many communities still lack clean water, healthcare, education, food, housing, and reliable energy. Dr. Jani believes this contrast should force world leaders to reconsider what humanity is choosing to fund.
Resources that could build hospitals are being used to destroy cities, fuel that could support transport and agriculture is being burned in military operations, and metals and minerals that could power renewable energy and infrastructure are instead converted into weapons. Agricultural land is damaged, forests are burned, and water systems are contaminated in the process.
Dr. Jani has emphasized that the present tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States require immediate diplomatic attention, and he has also called for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, arguing that continued military action only deepens human suffering while consuming more of the world’s limited resources.
His message is direct: the world needs ceasefires, dialogue, and diplomacy before more lives and resources are lost, since peace is not only a humanitarian necessity but also an environmental and economic responsibility.
