Samsung bets on AI-driven foldables as it opens India pre-reservations before July 22 Unpacked

Samsung is opening India pre-reservations for AI-powered Galaxy foldables ahead of its July 22 Unpacked launch event.

Samsung has opened Indian pre-reservations for its next generation of Galaxy foldable smartphones, framing the devices around AI integration ahead of a global launch on July 22. The company says its next foldables will combine artificial intelligence with new designs to deliver more personalised and adaptive experiences.

Customers can reserve a unit for a refundable token of Rs 999 through Samsung.com, Samsung Exclusive Stores, Amazon India, Flipkart and leading retail stores, with those completing a purchase after launch receiving benefits worth Rs 2,799. Samsung has not named the devices, though reports point to a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 lineup.

The strategy reflects a broader industry push to position hardware upgrades around AI capabilities rather than raw specifications, with Samsung noting it has continued making its foldables thinner, lighter, stronger and more immersive while adding AI features aimed at everyday use.

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22 in London will stream live on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom and YouTube from 6:30 pm IST, and is expected to also include the Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, and a first showcase of Samsung’s Android XR smart glasses.
