Amazon India says its 10th edition of Prime Day was its fastest ever, with half of deal items delivered in minutes in Amazon Now cities and same-day deliveries surging more than 3X.
Amazon India has announced that the 10th edition of its Prime Day sale was the fastest Prime Day ever. In cities with Amazon Now, one in two items on deal were delivered in just minutes, while same-day deliveries surged more than 3X compared to last year, with one in four Prime Day orders reaching customers the same day.
More than half of all orders placed during the event were delivered before it ended, with ultrafast service extending to tier 2 and 3 cities such as Hoshiarpur, Ujjain and Dharwad. Customers enjoyed benefits including free delivery on Amazon Now orders above Rs 99, cashback offers and zero fees on all orders.
Prime membership also grew significantly in smaller cities, with more than 70% of new Prime sign-ups coming from tier 2 and 3 cities. Nearly half of Amazon Now orders went beyond groceries, covering categories such as cameras and personal care appliances.
The sale also saw record participation from small and medium businesses, with the highest-ever number of sellers crossing Rs 10 lakh in sales. Amazon Business recorded a 3.6X increase in new customer sign-ups and a 10X spike in Prime sign-ups, while bulk deals grew nearly 7X, led by laptops, televisions and headphones.
Nearly one in two shoppers chose Amazon Pay as their payment method, and one in four purchases across mobiles, TVs and large appliances were made on EMI, with four out of five of those through No Cost EMI.
