Does Nearwala Offer Remote Jobs? Here’s What Its Own Postings Show
Public LinkedIn job postings suggest hyperlocal commerce startup Nearwala offers at least one remote role, even as most of its on-ground positions stay on-site.
Anyone searching for whether Nearwala, the hyperlocal commerce startup, offers remote or hybrid work is unlikely to find a single published HR policy answering the question. What does exist is a scattered trail of job postings on LinkedIn, and taken together, they suggest the picture is mixed rather than uniform.
Nearwala, registered as NearPay Innovations Pvt Ltd, describes itself in its own recruiting posts as a platform built to help India’s neighbourhood kirana stores compete online, offering shop owners an ordering platform, delivery support and digital marketing help. Its hiring activity on LinkedIn reflects that ground-level, city-by-city business model.
Several of its listed roles are explicitly on-site. An HR Intern position based in Kozhikkode, Kerala, was reposted by multiple recruiters over the past year, each listing the work mode as on-site with a bachelor’s degree as the only qualification requirement. Separately, the company has advertised for Regional Head and city-lead roles to “build and manage” local teams and onboard shops city by city — described as full-time or part-time with flexible hours, but tied to a specific location rather than fully remote.
At least one role breaks that pattern. A Social Media Assistant posting from a Nearwala Regional Head lists the position as ‘Full-time | Remote | Work from home,’ covering content creation, regional social strategy and community engagement across Instagram, Facebook and YouTube Shorts. Unlike the on-ground roles, this one carries no city requirement in the listing.
Taken together, the pattern looks less like a formal remote-or-hybrid policy and more like Nearwala keeping its operational, on-the-ground hiring — HR, regional expansion, business development — on-site or city-based, while treating some content and creative roles as remote-friendly on a case-by-case basis.
It’s worth noting that individual LinkedIn job posts aren’t the same as a company-wide policy document, and work-mode details can change between listings or go unfilled. For current openings and confirmed work-mode details, checking Nearwala’s official website directly remains the more reliable route than relying on any single job post.
